Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will develop advanced mechanical skills under supervision while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Tools readiness and a valid driver’s license are required; you will manage parts on a service truck and document work using the TRAIT app. Growth opportunities exist to advance to higher technician levels within Cox Fleet.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must supply a set of hand tools.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• Valid driver’s license; 21+ years old.
• ASE certifications preferred; obtain within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brakes, cooling, engines, transmissions, etc.
• Manage parts inventory and equipment on service truck; reconcile periodically.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle; conduct safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with customers and management to assess needs and obtain approvals.
