Job summary

Rush Truck Leasing is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to service a fleet at client locations. You will perform diagnostics, replacements, and preventative maintenance while delivering strong customer service.

Responsibilities include fuel/oil checks, inventory control, and after-hours availability in a results-driven environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 5 years of Class 7 & 8 experience, CDL and Medical card, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a truck service setting.
• CDL and Medical card as required by FMVS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability are essential.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment per company standards and perform scheduled service.
• Handle basic maintenance: fueling, oil checks, cleaning, inspections.
• Manage service truck inventory and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to Service Manager; receive daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service and flexible scheduling.
• Maintain tools for diesel truck maintenance and repairs.
• Read job orders to determine issues and plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and determine repairs.
• Replace injectors, pistons, bearings, transmissions, and related parts.
• Document diagnostics and repairs in the company system.
• Check guards and safety devices; adjust as needed.
• Lubricate parts and verify repairs by test drive.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document work in mobile service program promptly.
• Answer customer questions and maintain positive relations.
• Advise on repairs to be performed in the next 3 months.
• Participate in ongoing training and apply learning on the job.
