Job summary

Centerstone is seeking a Mobile Crisis Counselor to provide crisis response and intervention services to individuals in crisis across community settings and via phone or video. The role supports clients, families, and referral sources and facilitates linkage to ongoing services.

Responsibilities include crisis assessments in various settings, collaboration with law enforcement and schools, developing safety and discharge plans, and mentoring new staff while participating in quality assurance and

Qualifications

• Associate degree with two years of relevant experience or five years of related experience.
• CRSS credential required within 18 months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving history required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in crisis assessments at hospitals, police, schools, jails, or other community sites and facilitate linkage to ongoing services.
• Assist in emergency mental health consultations with physicians, law enforcement, school officials and other agencies to resolve crises.
• Assist with pre-screenings for state hospitals and private psychiatric hospitals to determine needs for voluntary/involuntary admissions.
• Assist clients in making safety and discharge plans.
• Provide follow-up services as assigned.
• Mentor and train new staff and interns on emergency processes and services.
• Attend staff meetings and quality assurance activities.
• Participate on committees as assigned.
