Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Float Teller who will support branch staff across multiple locations within a designated area. You will engage customers digitally, assist with lobby management, and efficiently process a variety of transactions while adhering to bank policy.

You will maintain high service standards, balance cash accurately, handle account maintenance, and escalate issues when needed, all while promoting the M&T brand and ensuring risk controls are followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months customer service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling experience
• Ability to travel between branches on an as needed basis
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service
• Well-organized with good time management
• Proficient with internet user-level technology

Responsibilities

• Adhere to customer service standards and deliver differentiated experiences by understanding customer needs
• Educate customers through shoulder-to-shoulder digital demonstrations and identify self-service opportunities
• Engage in lobby management, greet customers and address immediate needs
• Accurately balance and process customer transactions following Bank Policy
• Own escalated account service issues and log complaints
• Transition sales opportunities to the appropriate banking partner
• Complete branch-related operational activities (cash ordering, vault, ATM, wires)
• Process customer/account maintenance
• Complete AML/BSA/KYC activities and comply with risk controls
• Promote a workplace that reflects the M&T Bank brand and support audit requirements
• Stand for long periods and lift 5-30 lbs as needed
