Job summary

M&T Bank seeks a Float Teller to enhance branch customer experience through digital engagement, lobby management, and everyday transactions. This role involves frequent travel to branches within a designated area to support staff and ensure smooth service delivery.

Responsibilities include balancing transactions, resolving routine issues, and promoting banking products. Candidates should have 6 months of customer service experience and be comfortable with technology and cash handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and minimum of 6 months customer service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling
• Ability to travel between branches on an as needed basis
• Proven verbal communication skills
• Proven interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to demonstrated exceptional customer service
• Well-organized
• Proven time management skills
• Proven prioritization skills
• Proven proficiency with internet user-level technology
• Bilingual based on branch needs (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Adhere to established customer service standards and provide a differentiated experience by understanding customer needs and delivering solutions
• Educate customers through shoulder-to-shoulder digital demonstrations and identify self-service opportunities
• Engage in lobby management, meet and greet customers and address immediate needs
• Accurately balance and process customer transactions following Bank Policy
• Take ownership of escalated account services issues until resolution and log complaints
• Transition sales opportunities and introduce appropriate banking partners
• Perform branch operational tasks (e.g., cash ordering, vault, ATM, wire transfers)
• Process customer/account maintenance accurately
• Complete AML/BSA/KYC related activities
• Adhere to compliance/operational risk controls and bank policies
• Promote an environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand
• Maintain internal controls and assist with audits and regulatory requests
• Perform other related duties as assigned
