Job summary

Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) is seeking an experienced Social Worker to provide assessment, supportive counseling, case management, and referrals across Workforce Development programs. You will help participants identify needs, reduce barriers, and stay engaged in services supporting employment and long-term stability.

Responsibilities include initial intake, service planning, and coordination with partners; maintain documentation; apply trauma-informed practices;

Qualifications

• Current LMSW required.
• 2–5 years of related experience in social work or workforce development.
• Experience with diverse populations and navigating multiple systems.
• Strong crisis intervention, assessment, and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Proficiency with case management systems (Salesforce, SEAMS).

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered social work services and assess participant needs.
• Conduct initial intake, assessments, and service planning to set goals.
• Develop and maintain a portfolio of community resources and partnerships.
• Deliver coordinated case management, planning, and follow-up support.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with standards and funder requirements.
• Collaborate with staff to align services with employment goals.
• Address barriers to employment and coordinate appropriate referrals.
• Apply trauma-informed practices in all participant interactions.
• Fulfill mandated reporting and participate in program evaluation.
