Job summary

Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Social Worker to provide assessment, counseling, case management, and service-referral support to clients across Workforce Development programs. The Social Worker will help participants identify needs, reduce barriers, connect to resources, and remain engaged in services that support employment and long-term stability.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required.
• 2–5 years of related experience in social work, case management, behavioral health, workforce development, or human services.
• Experience working with diverse populations and helping clients navigate a range of systems.
• Strong crisis intervention, assessment, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Commitment to a strengths-based, person-centered approach.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Proficiency with case management systems (Salesforce, SEAMS, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered social work services to a diverse population.
• Perform intake, assessment, and service planning to develop participant goals.
• Engage participants quickly and build rapport using a strengths-based approach.
• Develop and maintain a portfolio of community resources and partnerships.
• Provide coordinated case management, service planning, and follow-up support.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, confidentiality, and program standards.
• Collaborate with participants and program staff using evidence-based practices to support engagement and progress.
• Monitor actions through follow-up and update service plans as needed.
• Maintain case management files and address barriers to employment (housing, childcare, transportation, mental health, etc.).
• Coordinate safety and crisis intervention planning, including risk assessment.
• Work with job developers and Career Navigators to align services with employment goals.
• Apply trauma-informed practices in all interactions.
• Track and report participant outcomes and fulfill mandated reporting requirements.
