Job summary

Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) is seeking a Supported Employment Job Developer to work with persons with disabilities through Customized Employment. You will coordinate Discovery, intern at work sites, and interview significant people within their circle of support to arrive at a holistic picture for a good job match.

You will maintain employer networks, place 25 individuals per year, prepare resumes, assist with applications, and provide on-site coaching when

Qualifications

• High school or GED required at minimum; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience with persons with disabilities is desirable.
• Strong communication, presentation and networking skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Discovery process and final Discovery Report within ~90 days.
• Develop community sites for short-term internships across diverse settings.
• Place approximately 25 individuals per year.
• Create appropriate resumes for consumers in the program.
• Fill out applications with individuals when needed.
• Maintain relationships with employers and develop new accounts.
• Assist consumers in finding, getting and keeping jobs.
• Perform job matching based on participant experience and goals.
• Provide on-site job coaching when necessary and promote SSA work incentives knowledge.
• Manage paperwork and ensure HIPAA confidentiality.
