Job summary

The Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County is seeking a Retail Store Manager for our Wilmington, DE location to lead store operations, drive sales, and deliver exceptional donor and customer experiences.

You will recruit and develop a high-performing team, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, manage schedules and payroll, and use technology to streamline daily operations while supporting job training and employment programs in our community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, operations, logistics, sales, or related field (or 4+ years of leadership experience).
• Experience supervising teams and managing retail sales or store operations.
• Experience executing operational strategies and achieving performance goals.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to lead operations to provide top quality service to customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with all staff levels.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe, compliant workplace with high safety and regulatory standards.
• Drive sales, revenue, and production performance, meeting or exceeding monthly goals.
• Manage labor efficiency and payroll, optimizing scheduling and wage-to-revenue ratios.
• Recruit, interview, and develop talent; coach team members.
• Oversee POS and cash handling operations with accuracy and accountability.
• Maintain daily reporting: sales, donations, labor hours, inventory.
• Deliver outstanding customer experience and community partner relations.
• Use scheduling tools to streamline operations and communication.
• Protect assets through loss prevention and inventory control.
• Ensure onboarding and role-specific training is completed timely.
• Support store events and community initiatives.
