Job summary

Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County is launching a new Lantana Square store in Hockessin, Delaware, and seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help hire, train, and set up operations from day one. You will support the Store Manager, drive customer engagement, and help build a mission-driven culture in the community.

The role requires open availability, leadership, and a focus on safety, sales, and community programs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 1–3 years supervisory retail/operations experience.
• Experience supervising teams and supporting retail sales.
• Experience executing operational strategies and driving results.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Open availability including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager with pre-opening and launch activities for the new store.
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and training the opening team.
• Help build relationships with the community, customers, and donors.
• Follow safety policies to protect customers and assets.
• Oversee day-to-day operations in the manager's absence.
• Drive sales, meet revenue and production goals, and maintain audit scores.
