Pearce Services in Newark, NJ is seeking an Experienced Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Service Engineer) to perform preventive maintenance, emergency service, and commissioning on UPS, battery systems, DC power, and related infrastructure in data centers and mission-critical facilities across the Newark region.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on UPS and power equipment experience, strong electrical knowledge, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience servicing UPS, battery, DC power equipment, or data center infrastructure.
• Experience with manufacturers like Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical theory and power distribution systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Experience using multimeters and battery testing equipment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical/electronic issues.
• Strong customer-facing communication and professionalism.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and on-site compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS and related power equipment.
• Diagnose faults using schematics, test equipment, and manufacturer docs.
• Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, monitoring systems, and bypass equipment.
• Respond to emergency service calls and restore operations safely.
• Document service reports and communicate with customers clearly.
• Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise and responsiveness.
• Mentor junior technicians and contribute to field training.
• Maintain OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site safety compliance.
