Job summary

Pearce Services is seeking an Experienced Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Service Engineer) to support customers across Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding regions. You will perform preventive maintenance, emergency service, commissioning, and battery-related services on UPS and DC power systems in data centers and other mission-critical environments.

Candidates should have 3+ years of hands-on experience with UPS/battery systems, be able to read electrical schematics, and travel

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience servicing UPS systems and battery systems.
• Experience with major brands: Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC power, battery technologies.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical docs.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and safety mindset.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel; military veterans encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters and related equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and control faults using schematics, test equipment, and documentation.
• Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, monitoring systems and related infrastructure.
• Respond to emergency service calls and restore systems safely and efficiently.
• Complete service reports and maintain professional customer communications.
• Mentor junior technicians and support field training efforts.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E and site safety requirements.
• Travel within service territory, including overnight travel as needed; participate in on-call rotations.
