Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Para AUT-Mild-Level III - Special Education to support instructional programs for students with special needs in regular and special education settings. Responsibilities include adapting activities, monitoring behavior, administering first aid, and assisting with IEP meetings, data collection, and daily records.

The role requires a Paraprofessional Educator certificate, a high school diploma or GED (with Praxis/GACE Parapro or PSC hours), and

Qualifications

HS Diploma or GED plus Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro (before March 1, 2007) or 60 semester hours / 90 quarter hours PSC approved
Paraprofessional Educator certificate issued by the PSC is required
Experience in a licensed child care environment preferred
Knowledge of child development
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Effective interpersonal skills
Knowledge of office and media equipment

Responsibilities

Adapt classroom activities and materials to reinforce IEP goals.
Monitor student behavior and provide supervision in various settings.
Administer immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by health professionals.
Assist in administering tests, homework, and makeup work.
Assist students with disabilities with daily living activities and personal care.
Confer with teachers on student progress and IEP objectives.
Collect data and implement behavioral plans per IEP teams.
