Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join the Chinook Program supporting an Intelligence Community customer and advancing an application for critical national security objectives.

You will own features end-to-end, from design through deployment, and contribute to modern cloud, DevSecOps, API, and containerized technologies while collaborating with engineers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 4–8 years of experience, or Master’s with less than 2–6 years of experience.
• Proficiency with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JSON, REST APIs) and OOP languages (Python, Java, JavaScript).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) and agile tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of secure coding practices and government accreditation processes (RMF, STIGs).
• Experience with relational/noSQL databases and test/automation practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software supporting GEOINT missions.
• Translate requirements into software solutions and independently implement features.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Contribute to CI/CD, DevSecOps practices, and containerized environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews.
• Ensure software documentation and performance improvements.
