Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Programs Team. The role offers opportunities to lead electrical design across facilities and infrastructure from inception through completion, with assignments in Arlington, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; San Antonio, TX; Dallas, TX; Tacoma, WA; Seattle, WA or Denver, CO.

You will mentor engineers, oversee design deliverables, coordinate with clients and regulators, and ensure compliance with NFPA codes while advancing future-ready

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university (or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer on capital projects.
  • Professional Engineer registration.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70/101/780 and related codes.
  • Revit and AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Proficiency with SKM Power Tools, Easy Power, ETAP.
  • Agi32 or Elum proficiency.
  • SpecsIntact or MasterSpec proficiency.
  • RS Means Costworks proficiency.
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project proficiency.
  • Experience with inspections, QA/QC and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Self-leadership and ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage safety-sensitive tasks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design within an MEP discipline team on a wide range of projects.
  • Develop construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and basis of design.
  • Oversee projects from inception to completion for facilities and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with government, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and vendors.
  • Review permits, plans, and inspections to ensure code compliance.
  • Mentor staff in lighting, power, grounding, and signaling systems.
  • Define requirements with clients and planning teams to meet project needs.
  • Collaborate with professionals across disciplines for Federal, State, and local projects.
