Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Programs Team, with potential offices in Madison, WI. You will design electrical systems for facilities and infrastructure, contributing from concept through construction while collaborating with engineers, planners, and field staff.

You will apply NEC/IEEE/NFPA/ICC standards, perform power, lighting, and protection calculations, and prepare technical reports.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5–7 years of post-education electrical design experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and ICC codes.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance; US citizenship may be required by clients.
  • Experience with CAD/BIM and lighting design.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design within an electrical discipline team on a wide range of projects.
  • Involved from inception to completion in design and construction of facilities and infrastructure.
  • Deliver design projects using design-bid-build, Design-Build, or Alternative Delivery methods.
  • Develop single-line and three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts; grounding and lighting design.
  • Perform calculations including load analysis, short-circuit, voltage drop, and arc flash assessments.
  • Prepare electrical plans and specifications and assist with contract documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, planners, and construction professionals to execute multiple projects.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports and presentations explaining findings and recommendations.
