Job summary

WSP is seeking a Shore Power Electrical Engineer to join our team and potentially work from multiple U.S. offices including Madison, WI. You will join Shore Power Engineers across Federal and Commercial lines to design and deliver electrical systems for waterfront facilities.

You will handle medium/low voltage shore power, provide deliverables, perform analyses per NEC/NESC/IEEE, and coordinate with clients and vendors through project completion. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college/university or equivalent.
5+ years of post-education experience delivering design deliverables for projects.
Ability to obtain PE registration within one year if not licensed.
US citizenship is required per client requirements.
Knowledge of NFPA 70/NEC and related codes; familiarity with NFPA 101 and NFPA 780.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with SKM/Easy Power/ETAP.
Experience in shore power systems, lighting, and electrical distribution.
Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.

Responsibilities

Support shore power projects from concept through construction.
Perform electrical design for grounded and ungrounded shore power systems and distribution.
Produce deliverables: one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, conduit sizing, layouts, equipment specs.
Conduct NEC/NESC/IEEE-based design calculations and analyses.
Assist with protection, short-circuit, timing, arc-flash analyses, and relay settings.
Coordinate with clients, government, and subcontractors to meet project goals.
Develop waterfront construction plans and basis of design for facilities.
Contribute to project inception-to-completion design and construction oversight.
