Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Programs Team, supporting projects from multiple offices including Virginia Beach, VA, Boise, ID, Overland Park, KS, and Madison, WI. The role entails design and construction activities across facility and infrastructure projects, with opportunities to work in various delivery frameworks.

The position requires 5–7 years of post-education experience, strong NEC/IEEE knowledge, CAD/BIM proficiency, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET) or equivalent.
5–7 years’ post-education electrical design experience on capital projects.
Knowledge of NEC/IEEE/NFPA/ICC codes.
Ability to pass security background check and US citizenship requirements.
Experience with CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit).
Experience with power distribution and lighting design software (SKM PTW, ETAP, AGI32).
Strong written and verbal communication; interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

Design within an electrical discipline team across a range of projects.
Contribute from inception through construction for facility and infrastructure projects.
Deliver design in design-bid-build, Design-Build, or Alternative Delivery.
Develop electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Assist with calculations: load, short circuit, coordination, arc flash, voltage drop.
Support cross-functional teams of engineers, planners, and construction professionals.
Prepare technical reports and presentations to address design and construction issues.
