Job summary

Stantec is seeking a mid-level civil engineer to contribute to dam, power and infrastructure projects under the guidance of a senior engineer. You will perform analyses, field work, and coordinate tasks as part of a project team.

You will assist in preparing designs and reports, lead team members on assignments, support construction activities, and travel 25–50% for geotechnical investigations and site inspections.

Qualifications

• Geotechnical engineering concepts and analysis methods.
• Ability to collaborate in a project team setting.
• Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and other material.
• Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, Geostudio, gINT and PCSWMM.

Responsibilities

• Conducts analyses and calculations under the direction of a Project Technical Lead or Senior Engineer.
• May perform field work related to geotechnical explorations and/or construction activities.
• Assists in preparing designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports.
• Manage and lead other team members while working on projects, delegating tasks as appropriate.
• Assists in providing support during construction, including submittal reviews and contract clarifications.
• Assist in developing new standards and specifications for the discipline.
• Prepare portions of engineering project proposals and client communications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
