Job summary

Stantec seeks an Intern/Co-op to work in a team on water infrastructure projects including dams, levees, treatment facilities, and stormwater systems. You will support geotechnical explorations, assist with reports, cost tracking, and design calculations, and gain exposure to CAD and field work in a mentored environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
• Willingness to learn.
• In progress toward earning a bachelor's degree (minimum) in civil engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating geotechnical explorations.
• Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
• Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations for design projects.
• Perform modeling and design activities on a variety of water infrastructure projects.
• Assist engineers with reviewing boring logs and laboratory data.
• Assist engineers in executing geotechnical analysis and evaluation of geotechnical hazards, as it relates to design and construction phases of the project.
• Gaining exposure and performing basic tasks in CAD and other design programs.
• Performing construction observations and assisting with geotechnical field work, as needed.
• Completing other engineering/administrative duties as required.
