Job summary

Abbott in Sturgis, MI, within the Nutrition division, is seeking an Assistant Microbiologist I on the 3rd shift (Tues-Sat). You’ll perform environmental sampling, apply GMP and aseptic techniques, and contribute to quality and compliance in a production environment.

You’ll work with a team of technicians, maintaining documentation, following FDA/OSHA guidelines, and supporting batch release with attention to detail and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with lab studies and math coursework, plus lab experience or manufacturing experience.
• Alternative science degrees with relevant lab experience meet requirements.
• Working knowledge of GMP settings is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out environmental sampling per EMP requirements and GMP procedures.
• Perform tests for pathogens and use aseptic techniques in a controlled environment.
• Document results, support batch release, and communicate findings clearly.
