Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Sturgis, MI, seeks a Supervisor, Microbiology Lab (3rd Shift) to lead the Environmental Monitoring Program and microbiology QA activities across a seven-day, multi-shift operation.

You will supervise staff, drive lab performance, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with Abbott and regulatory requirements while delivering high-quality testing results for products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field with 2 years in a regulated lab.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proven problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing support lab.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Experience with project planning tools.
• Knowledge of plant financials.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift quality and compliance performance.
• Manage budget accountability for headcount, OT, and expenses.
• Drive lab improvements and MSP objectives.
• Coordinate with lab and production teams to align priorities.
• Ensure EHS and QA audits are completed and CAPAs implemented.
• Coach and develop laboratory personnel.
