Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Assistant Microbiologist I for the 3rd shift (Tuesday through Saturday) at our Sturgis, MI facility. You will support Environmental Monitoring and GMP-compliant sampling in a fast-paced production environment, contributing to product quality and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required or equivalent.
• Science-related degree with lab experience or equivalent.
• Strong GMP knowledge and attention to detail.
• Solid computer and data recording skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out environmental monitoring sampling in GMP settings.
• Perform microbiological testing of EMP samples (air, swabs, water, etc.).
• Identify pathogens and use aseptic techniques in controlled environments.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all samples collected.
• Assist with batch release documentation and quality assurance activities.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure timely sampling.
