Job summary

Amazon in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability across fulfillment centers. You will provide proactive controls automation and technical support for MHE systems, troubleshooting complex control networks and leading improvement initiatives.

Work with state-of-the-art conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to boost performance and ensure Amazon's fast,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
2+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.
2+ years of Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain automation systems that are critical for operations.
Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems and industrial networks (PLC/PC controllers, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues and provide analysis.
Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, both locally and remotely.
Perform Building System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance.
