Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in our fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement of MHE systems using state-of-the-art technology including conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, serve as site expert for automation, and support technicians with PLC/PC controllers, Ethernet

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
2+ years of process or production environment related PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
2+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.
2+ years of Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain automation systems critical for operations as site expert.
Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems and industrial networks.
Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues.
Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, locally and remotely.
Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance.
