Job summary
Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in our fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex PLC-based controls, analyze performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement across MHE systems using SCADA, conveyors, sortation, and scanners.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support site technicians, and help implement innovative projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with PLC experience preferred.
- Experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting PLC-based controls.
- Experience with ladder logic and structured programming on Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation systems critical for operations.
- Understand and diagnose material handling control systems and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
- Monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with maintenance/operations to address performance issues.
- Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians locally and remotely.
- Conduct Building System Assessments to enhance material handling performance.
