Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and performance in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement of MHE systems using PLC/SCADA tech.

You will work with state-of-the-art conveyors, sortation, cameras, print/apply systems, and SCADA devices, contributing to site throughput and Amazon speed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/Automation or 4+ years PLC/automation experience.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 4+ years PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in process/production.
• 4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic programming.
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years of electrical theory and automated equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply SME to troubleshoot and investigate root causes of downtime.
• Collaborate with operations, FC Start-up, software teams for MHE optimization.
• Understand and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
• Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance teams.
• Provide escalation support during/after hours to repair hardware or software.
• Move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk during shifts up to 12 hours, climb ladders.
