Job summary

Structure Tone Southwest is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to perform MEP estimating, budgeting, and bidding for assigned projects in Dallas. You will interact with architects, clients, business development, and operations to ensure alignment on objectives, schedules, and information needed for accurate estimates.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, taking-offs for MEP work, soliciting bids, evaluating bids, and maintaining a centralized estimating database.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering or related field with 2–3 years MEP estimating experience.
• Well-developed estimating, budgeting, financial analysis, and computer skills are required.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems to complete comprehensive cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and drawings; prepare quantity take-offs for MEP projects.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and ensure bids conform to specs and scope.
• Analyze bids for conformance to project requirements and negotiate with subcontractors.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of codes to ensure complete bids.
• Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and process.
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for bids and management decisions.
