Job summary

Structure Tone Southwest in Texas is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to conduct MEP estimating, budgeting, and bidding for assigned projects. You will interact with architects, clients, business development, and operations staff to ensure clarity on objectives, schedules, and costs.

The role includes reviewing plans, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor bids, evaluating bids for conformance, and maintaining a centralized cost estimating database.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering with MEP estimating experience.
• 2-3 years of MEP estimating experience.
• Strong estimating, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of MEP systems and construction codes.
• Proficient in MS Project and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and drawings; prepare quantity take-offs for MEP projects.
• Solicit subcontractor bids for MEP projects.
• Analyze bids for conformance to specs, price, material quality, and related items.
• Maintain knowledge of construction codes to ensure complete bids.
• Develop scope-specific inclusion worksheets and track bidding subcontractors.
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and internal staff to discuss estimates.
• Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database.
• Analyze completed projects to identify discrepancies.
