Job summary

Structure Tone Southwest is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to perform MEP estimating, budgeting, and bidding for assigned projects. You will interact with architects, clients, and operations staff to develop accurate hard bids and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.

The role requires strong analytical, communications, and financial analysis skills, plus experience with Take Off, Bluebeam, Destiny, Building Connected, and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field with MEP experience; plus 2–3 years MEP estimating experience.
• Well-developed estimating, communication, financial analysis, budgeting, purchasing, negotiation, and computer skills are required.
• Knowledge of all construction systems, including mechanical and electrical, to produce comprehensive cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and perform quantity take-offs for MEP projects.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and review bids for conformance with specs and cost.
• Maintain centralized cost estimating database and track cost trends.
• Compute costs and prepare estimates for bids, negotiations, and project planning.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and internal staff to resolve issues and improve estimates.
• Analyze completed projects to compare estimated vs. actual costs and explain variances.
