Job summary

Abbott Construction is seeking a Mechanical Estimator in Austin, TX to perform MEP estimating, budgeting, and bidding for projects. You will interact with architects, clients, and operations to understand objectives and schedules, and develop hard bids or negotiated pricing with reliable subcontractors.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, soliciting bids, and maintaining a centralized estimating database to ensure accurate and competitive proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of MEP estimating experience.
• Strong estimating, budgeting, and cost-analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and drawings; prepare MEP quantity take-offs.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and analyze bids for conformance.
• Develop hard bids or negotiated pricing for proposals.
• Maintain cost estimating data and update against actual costs.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and internal teams to finalize estimates.
