Job summary

Abbott Construction seeks a Mechanical Estimator to lead MEP estimating, budgeting, and bidding for complex projects. You will interact with architects, clients, business development, and operations to align objectives, schedules, and cost data for successful proposals.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, taking-offs, soliciting subcontractor bids, and analyzing bids for conformance. You will maintain data, compute costs, and propose improvements using Take Off, Bluebeam, Destiny, Building

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction-related field with 2–3 years of MEP estimating experience.
• Strong estimating, communication, financial analysis, budgeting, purchasing, negotiation, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems to complete cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and perform quantity take-offs for MEP projects.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and ensure bids meet project specs and pricing standards.
• Maintain centralized cost estimating data and historical information.
• Compute cost factors and prepare bids for management decisions.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and internal staff to resolve estimates.
• Identify cost trends and propose improvements to reduce discrepancies.
