Job summary

Stantec seeks a BIM Technician to support the Engineering team in designing building mechanical and electrical systems. You will develop and organize Revit models, templates, and content libraries, ensuring compliance with Stantec and client standards and building codes.

You will collaborate with engineers and designers to prepare plans, drawings, details, and specifications, and mentor technologists in BIM best practices while staying current with BIM tech trends.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive BIM processes and standards for mechanical/electrical systems.
• Experience on mechanical/electrical building projects (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, electrical).
• Advanced Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage, and ACC/BIM 360 proficiency.
• Office suite and Bluebeam familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in design of mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing) and electrical systems.
• Coordinate with engineering and architecture to ensure clash-free model integration.
• Develop, manage, and maintain Revit models, templates, and content libraries.
• Create and implement BIM Execution Plans and project standards.
• Coordinate designs and drawings with other disciplines as part of complete design solutions.
• Identify and resolve model discrepancies.
• Mentor and train technologists in MEP Revit and BIM best practices.
• Model mechanical/electrical systems and associated drawings and specs.
• Participate in design coordination and BIM coordination meetings.
• Support tendering and construction phases as needed.
• Perform field reviews and verify construction design.
• Contribute to BIM standards, protocols, and quality control.
