Job summary

Stantec GS is seeking a BIM Technician to join their Engineering team, focusing on mechanical and electrical systems such as HVAC, piping, and electrical networks. You will work with Engineers and Designers to create and organize standard content and support project drawings, details, and specifications per Stantec and client standards.

Your responsibilities include developing Revit models, BEPs, and coordinating multidisciplinary BIM efforts, while mentoring technologists in BIM best practices

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma from technical college is required.
• 2-3 years of relevant BIM experience in architectural/engineering projects.
• Experience modeling HVAC, plumbing, drainage and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the design of mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing) and electrical (Power and Lighting) systems for projects.
• Coordinate with engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure clash-free model integration.
• Develop, manage, and maintain Revit models, templates, and content libraries for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with project teams to create and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and project standards.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical designs, models and drawings packages with other disciplines.
• Identify discrepancies in models and resolve through appropriate methods and channels.
• Mentor and train technologists in MEP Revit and BIM best practices.
• Provide technical modeling for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Participate in design coordination and BIM coordination meetings with stakeholders.
• Support tendering and construction phases as required.
