Job summary

Stantec seeks a BIM Technician to join its Engineering team in the United States. The successful candidate will design and manage mechanical and electrical systems models, coordinate with engineers and designers, and ensure BIM content aligns with Stantec standards, client requirements, and building codes across industrial and military projects.

You will develop Revit models, BEPs, and content libraries, mentor staff, and support design through tendering and construction while staying current

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma from technical college.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in architectural/engineering/contractor industry.
• Experience on HVAC and Plumbing drawings and models.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the design of mechanical and electrical systems for industrial and military projects.
• Coordinate with engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure clash-free model integration.
• Develop, manage, and maintain Revit models, templates, and content libraries for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Collaborate to create BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and project standards.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical designs and drawings packages with other disciplines.
• Identify discrepancies in models and resolve through appropriate methods.
• Mentor and train technologists in MEP Revit and BIM best practices.
• Provide technical competency on modeling HVAC, piping, and electrical systems.
• Participate in design coordination and BIM coordination meetings with stakeholders.
• Support tendering and construction phases as required.
• Perform field reviews to support design and verification of construction.
• Help develop BIM standards, protocols, and QA procedures.
• Stay current with emerging BIM technologies and trends.
