Job summary

Stantec is seeking a mechanical draftsperson to join our Buildings team in support of BIM and CAD workflows. You will design drawings from sketches and existing images, set up Revit MEP projects, and develop construction documentation under supervision.

You will collaborate with design engineers and BIM staff to produce accurate model-based drawings, perform file management, and provide technical support for active projects while participating in coordination meetings with other trades.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical or associate’s degree in CAD/Construction Technology, Mechanical Technology, or similar with knowledge of current CAD and BIM platforms; or an equivalent combination of education and Mechanical trade experience.
• Minimum two years of experience in mechanical drafting.

Responsibilities

• Design drawings based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers.
• Set up new Revit MEP projects based on existing project templates.
• Develop construction documentation under supervision of assigned engineering, design, and BIM staff utilizing primarily Revit MEP.
• Develop construction models in Revit MEP as part of a BIM team.
• Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings.
• Work from both customer and firm drawings.
• Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, managing links, and historic versioning. CAD and Revit drafting.
• Provide technical support for existing projects and field service.
• Attend coordination meetings, communicate with other trades, and create/extract reports as requirements.
