Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a mechanical drafting professional to join our Buildings team in the Richmond area. This role involves creating construction drawings from sketches and existing designs, setting up Revit MEP projects, and contributing to BIM models under supervision.

You will work closely with design engineers and other trades to produce accurate documentation. The ideal candidate has a two-year technical degree in CAD/Construction Technology or related field and

Qualifications

• Two-year technical or associate’s degree in CAD/Construction Technology, Mechanical Technology, or similar.
• Minimum two years of experience in mechanical drafting.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with design engineers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images.
• Design drawings based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers.
• Set up new Revit MEP projects based on existing project templates.
• Develop construction documentation under supervision of assigned engineering, design, and BIM staff utilizing primarily Revit MEP.
• Develop construction models in Revit MEP as part of a BIM team.
• Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings.
• Work from both customer and firm drawings.
• Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, managing links, and historic versioning.
• Provide technical support for existing projects and field service.
• Attend coordination meetings, communicate with other trades, and create/extract reports as requirements.

Education

Associates degree in CAD/Construction Technology

Two-year mechanical drafting experience
