Job summary

Grady Health System seeks a Mental Health Technician II to deliver services to individuals with serious mental illness across hospital, outpatient, or community settings. You will provide group and individual training in social and coping skills, support crisis prevention, and coordinate care with community services to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required. In lieu of degree, six years of comparable experience with one year in SPMI/Addictive Disease population, preferably full-time.
• Minimum three years experience with one year in SPMI/Addictive Disease population, preferably full-time.
• BLS Certification from AHA required.
• Preferred certifications: CTRS, CRC, or CPRP.

Responsibilities

• Provides strong case management support, including psychosocial needs assessments, care coordination, discharge planning, and linkage to community-based behavioral health and social services.
• Collaborates with licensed clinicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and follow-up for high-risk patients.
• Utilizes knowledge of Atlanta metro community resources to facilitate referrals to housing programs, outpatient behavioral health providers, crisis services, substance use treatment, and social support agencies.
• Supports patients with homelessness, co-occurring disorders, and limited support systems.
• Documents patient interactions and resource coordination in the EMR accurately and timely.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field + relevant experience

BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

Certification options: CTRS/NCTRC; CRC/USPRA CPRP (preferred)
