Job summary

Grady Memorial Hospital seeks a Mental Health Technician II to provide services to individuals with serious mental illness. You will conduct group and individual training on social and coping skills, support care coordination, and link patients to community resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences (including Criminal Justice, Cultural Studies, Anthropology, or Sociology) required.
• Minimum three years of experience, with one year in SPMI/additive disease population, preferably in full-time status.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association required.
• Certifications in CTRS, CRC, or CPRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides strong case management support, including psychosocial needs assessments, care coordination, discharge planning, and linkage to community-based behavioral health and social services.
• Collaborates with licensed clinicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and follow-up for high-risk patients.
• Utilizes knowledge of Atlanta metro resources to facilitate referrals to housing programs, outpatient behavioral health providers, crisis services, and social support agencies.
• Supports patients with complex psychosocial needs, including homelessness, co-occurring disorders, and limited support systems.
• Documents patient interactions and resource coordination accurately in the EMR.
