Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is hiring a Membership Coordinator at the East Boston YMCA. You will report to the Director of Membership Sales & Service and help represent the YMCA through excellent member service and sales activities.

Responsibilities include guest tours, sign-ups, renewals, and supporting grassroots marketing while maintaining accurate records in spreadsheets and the Spirit system. This is a part-time, on-site role with some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and cash handling.
• Ability to meet monthly membership sales goals.
• Ability to multi-task and work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Be on time and ready to start at the Welcome Center, in uniform and name tag.
• Be open to covering shifts including opening, closing and weekends.
• Assist in meeting/exceeding monthly membership sales goals.
• Conduct tours for prospective members and follow up daily.
• Track sales and renewals in Excel in the P Drive.
• Manage renewals and send billing statements with marketing flyer.
• Train staff on Welcome Center policies and Y-Connect.
• Assist in grassroots marketing (flyers, tabling, events).
• Register programs/camps and sign up members in Spirit or electronic system.
• Cashing out, balance daily transactions, and secure envelopes.
• Maintain an orderly and neat workspace.
• Attend staff meetings and be a team player.
• Work some nights and weekends as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
