Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is hiring a Welcome Center Representative at the Waltham location to welcome members, process check-ins, and support sales and information needs.

This part-time role requires friendly, responsive customer service, the ability to multitask, and adherence to safety policies. Weekday afternoons/evenings and weekend shifts offer flexible engagement and opportunities to help our community.

Qualifications

• Provide excellent member service by listening and caring about members’ well-being.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Use Listen First skills to build relationships with members and participants.
• Make eye contact with members when talking with them.
• Be pleasant, welcoming, and greet members by name with a smile.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Present a welcoming demeanor when greeting and serving members.
• Arrive on time, in uniform with YMCA name tag.
• Enforce YMCA safety and membership policies at all times.
• Work independently and solve problems to serve members.
• Be open to substituting to cover openings including openings, closings, weekends.
• Conduct tours of the facility for prospective members as needed.
• Take member and non-member phone calls per YMCA policies.
• Communicate YMCA policies clearly to members and staff.
• Cash out, balance daily transactions, and drop envelopes in safe.
• Maintain an orderly workspace and clean up before leaving.
• Respond to emergencies and assist as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and be a team player.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
