Job summary

National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is seeking an Elite Outside Sales Advocate to grow NFIB membership by engaging independent business owners. This hunter/closer role combines field outreach with a proven sales process to drive enrollment and payments on the spot. Ideal candidates bring entrepreneurial drive, relationship-building grit, and a coach mentality.

You’ll work in Washington, D.C. and state capitals as you defend small business rights while earning uncapped commissions

Qualifications

• Own a business, run a department, or manage a territory as if it were your own with accountability for results.
• Ability to cold-call in person and build rapport with small business owners on-site.
• Value continuous improvement and master a proven, structured sales model.

Responsibilities

• This is a Hunter/Closer role focused on growing membership by engaging independent business owners.
• Prospecting: conduct in-person cold calls to meet small business owners (no appointment setting).
• The NFIB Presentation: master and deliver our 5-minute sales presentation.
• The Close: use an assumptive one-call close to enroll new members and process payments on the spot.
• Advocacy: educate owners on NFIB protections in DC and state capitals.
