Gateway Region YMCA in Missouri is seeking a part-time Welcome Center Associate to support branch membership, registrations, and guest verification. The role emphasizes customer service, accuracy with the HRIS system, and driving member engagement.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to relate to diverse community groups. Shifts include early mornings and weekends with benefits linked to the YMCA program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups in the community.
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with branch management to implement membership policies and systems that support branch membership, program and marketing objectives.
• Enter membership and program registrations into the HRIS operating system.
• Greet and engage with members and verify guests in Raptor before entering the branch.
• Process HRIS transactions with accuracy and perform daily close out and drawer count.
• Recruit participants for member challenges (member visit drivers).
• Suggest procedures or standards to improve efficiency and productivity at the Welcome Center.
• Ensure established processes for touring and following up with membership inquiries are followed.
• Assist with attainment of membership department strategic plan goals.
• Provide feedback and solutions regarding gaps in service and member concerns.
• Stay current on customer service, sales, and Leader procedures & practices.
• Respond to member inquiries and problem solve via phone or in person using Listen First skills.
• Effectively handle conflict and member complaints with support of the center Membership Director.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
