Job summary

The YMCA of Memphis & The Mid-South is seeking a part-time Membership Associate to deliver excellent service to members, guests, and program participants at the branch.

You will interview prospective members, promote memberships and programs, and help create a welcoming, organized lobby. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships.
• Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.
• Employee will accurately report work time via approved YMCA Clocking Method: Branch Kiosk, YMCA site phone, YMCA iPad, or timesheet.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings
• Assist with facility tours
• Serve as a YMCA representative at special events
• Attend designated YMCA trainings and certification courses
