Job summary

State Employees' Credit Union in Maine seeks a friendly Member Services Representative to guide members on products, open and maintain accounts, and handle cash duties with accuracy. You will assist with notary services, wires, and currency exchanges while providing quality referrals to advisory services.

Community engagement and ongoing training are expected. The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and active listening to build trust and deliver excellent service in a branch

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED and good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Demonstrated problem solving and sound judgment.
• Active listening and effective communication with members.
• Must meet all Assoc MSR role requirements and training requirements.
• Minimum of 2 years SECU or related experience preferred.
• Strong balancing record with no violations in previous 6 months.
• Completion of quarterly training courses as directed.

Responsibilities

• Explain products and services to members and answer questions.
• Process account openings and maintenance across various account types.
• Handle cash, balance drawers, and manage cash-related duties.
• Process wires, foreign currency, and notary requests as needed.
• Assist with drive-through and in-person member service channels.
• Provide referrals to financial advisory and mortgage services when appropriate.
• Engage with community events to increase credit union presence.
• Maintain proper documentation and records daily.
