Job summary

Springfield Family YMCA is seeking a friendly Member Services team member to staff the desk and assist members with check-ins, registrations, and information. This part-time, non-exempt role requires weekend/evening availability and a welcoming attitude.

You will handle member transactions, tours for prospective members, and inquiries while following desk procedures and safety guidelines. A high school diploma or GED is required; a 2-year degree or related experience is preferred, with at least

• At least 1 year of customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent member service at the Member Services Desk.
• Process membership sales, changes, cancellations, and registrations.
• Follow Desk processes and systems.
• Conduct facility tours for prospective members and guests.
• Maintain excellent telephone skills.
• Handle monetary transactions and reconciliation.
• Build relationships with members and proactively solve problems.
• Perform routine copying and filing.
• Keep member information up-to-date per handbook.
• Follow safety guidelines.
• Report concerns or incidents to supervisor.
• Suggest improvements to member services.

Essential Functions:

• Provides excellent member service.
• Performs membership sales, changes, cancellations, and all other member transactions, including program registration and other activities, in an efficient and accurate manner, that occur at the Member Service Desk.
• Follows Member Service Desk processes and systems.
• Conducts tours of the facility for prospective members and guests.
• Displays excellent telephone skills.
• Handles monetary transactions and appropriate reconciliation of these transactions.
• Builds relationships with members.
• Proactively solves problems.
• Performs routine copying and filing.
• Keeps up-to-date with member information as outlined in the member handbook.
• Follows appropriate safety guidelines.
• Communicates to direct supervisor any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up.
• Communicates any suggestions to improve member services.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED required.
• A 2-year degree or applicable experience is preferred.
• One year or more of related customer service experience required.
