Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Part-Time Member Services Representative at Pearl Street Family YMCA in Tacoma, WA. Up to 25 hours per week, mornings and weekends preferred.

You will greet members, process basic transactions, and deliver exceptional service to enhance member experience. Ideal candidates have at least two years in customer service or sales, strong communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to deliver a positive and welcoming experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment.
• Proactive work style with the ability to take initiative and follow tasks through to completion.
• Positive attitude and experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
• Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good public relations with members and always represent the best interests of the YMCA.
• Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Greet and assist all members, potential members and staff in a courteous, professional and friendly manner.
• Assisting with basic membership transactions.
• Respond to members' needs. Contact appropriate personnel when necessary and notify supervisor of unusual situations. Handle complaints in a courteous manner.
