Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a part-time Member Services Representative to join our team at the Pearl Street Family YMCA in Tacoma, WA. You will greet members, respond to needs, promote memberships and programs, and keep the front desk organized.

The role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service, handling basic transactions, and maintaining a welcoming lobby. Shift is Monday–Friday 5pm–9:45pm, with wage range $17.51–$18.01 per hour, and benefits for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive environment.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• At least two years of customer service, sales, or related experience (preferred).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Comfortable with computers and office equipment.
• Proactive mindset and ability to get things done.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good public relations with members and represent the YMCA.
• Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in-branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Greet and assist all members, potential members and staff in a courteous, professional and friendly manner.
• Assist with basic membership transactions.
• Respond to members' needs, contact appropriate personnel, and notify supervisor of unusual situations; handle complaints courteously.
