Job summary

YMCA of Central Maryland, Inc. seeks a Membership Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and support membership growth through outreach and sales. This role greets prospective and current members, creating a welcoming, member-focused environment under the Membership Director.

They will participate in outreach to local businesses and community partners to advance the center’s strategy while supporting front desk operations and accurate recordkeeping in the membership database.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of customer service and sales experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for helping others.
• Experience with community outreach or partnership development preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with membership software systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality customer service to members, guests, and visitors.
• Promotes YMCA programs and membership offerings through in-person and phone interactions, tours, and follow-ups.
• Supports membership sales goals by participating in lead generation, tours, and onboarding.
• Conducts outreach to local businesses, schools, and community organizations.
• Makes accurate records in the membership database and handles member information.
• Supports front desk operations including check-ins and registrations.
