Job summary

VyStar Credit Union in Callahan, FL is seeking a Relationship Specialist I to deliver exceptional member experiences and grow deposits, loans, and memberships. You will engage with members to assess needs and present appropriate financial products and services.

You will handle account transactions, open various accounts, and provide notary, wire transfers, and other services while working within regulatory guidelines. A positive, customer-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in a sales and/or customer service position, asking questions, offering recommendations and making referrals is required
• Ability to process accurate transactions and requests
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communications skills
• Proficient in the use of the Internet and Microsoft Office
• Outgoing personality and a strong desire to help people
• Professional in appearance and attitude
• Ability to handle many tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities

Responsibilities

• Have quality conversations with members and potential members, ask questions, listen carefully and make the appropriate product and service recommendations
• Strengthen and enhance the member experience through continued quality conversations and relationship building
• Perform and document transactions in accordance with applicable statutes and regulations; abide by VyStar policies and procedures
• Provide regulatory disclosures and information on new and other accounts, products, services and referrals
• Open various types of accounts (checking, savings, money market, CDs, trust, IRAs) and verify IDs
• Handle personal and business transactions including deposits, transfers, withdrawals, credit card cash advances
• Process loan applications and offer more complex loan products
• Understand credit reports for lending conversations
• Provide additional services (notary, wire transfers, etc.)
• Support other departments through referrals (Mortgage, Business Services, Insurance, Investments)
• Exercise judgment within defined limits and work with independence
• Perform routine account maintenance and changes
• Assist with branch duties (ATM balancing, opening/closing, outages)
• Resolve member problems and escalate complex concerns
• Check proofing and verify checks; comply with check hold procedures
• Work cooperatively in a team and balance individual and team priorities
• Perform other duties as assigned
